Immune Tea

Immune Tea

For an immune boost, make your own immune-tea.

Healers have been brewing homemade salves and teas for centuries to help ward off common bugs and to bolster the immune system.

My recipe combines three simple ingredients you can find at any grocery store for a tea that can be sipped when fighting off a cold, or that can be drunk as an immune-booster every few weeks.

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 buds of organic clove: clove is a powerful anti-parasitic and is used in broths, teas and stews across cultures for its intense flavor and warming quality.
  • ½ tsp fresh or dried organic oregano: oregano has antimicrobial properties and is particularly helpful for keeping bad bacteria in check in the gut.
  • 2 tsp dried organic blueberries: blueberries are one of the most antioxidant-rich foods on the planet and have been shown to support the liver, offer protection against oxidative stress and even modulate immune cells in mouse models. They also taste great!

To Make:

-Combine all ingredients in a filter-containing teapot.

-Cover with 1-2 cups of boiling water.

-Allow to steep for 4 minutes, then pour and serve.

Sip and enjoy the benefits!

(makes 2-3 cups immune-tea)

Note: if you are oxalate sensitive, skip the clove or swap it for 5-6 mint leaves.
