3 Tips To Reset Your Body For Spring

Spring, sprang, sprung! The weather is getting warmer, the cherry blossoms are in bloom and, believe me, your body is noticing. This season, treat yourself to some spring cleaning essentials to help your body detox, refresh and reset.

Invest In An Allergy Detox

Ever heard of castor oil?  Castor oil is a topical treatment renowned for pulling excess hormones and deleterious toxins. Utilizing a castor oil pack is a great way to target specific areas of the body that may be backed up due to high pollen conditions – a.k.a. your liver! Simply dab a quarter sized amount of organic castor oil onto a cotton cloth and press it gently onto your liver or on the bottoms of your feet for 10 to 15 minutes. I like Dr. Marsiol’s Queen Of Thrones Castor Oil Packs for their high quality product and easy to use packs – designed for multiple uses!

Outsmart pollen with electrolytes. I call Wild-Lytes my internal “scrubber” because its balance of detoxifying cilantro and mineralizing sea salt can help break down deposits and calcifications in the body where toxins may be lurking. The l-citrulline from watermelon converts to l-arginine in the body, helping to manage the body’s histamine response, which can be super elevated by pollen exposure, causing everything from sniffles and sinus pressure to leaky gut and hives. I drink Wild Lytes three times a day in the Spring to keep my detoxification pathways running smoothly.

Clear the air. As Spring fills our homes with pollen, a thorough & reliable air filtration system can do a body good! Air Doctor is the only brand I trust with the air quality of my home and office – this system filters out everything from mold and pollen to toxic ozone & volatile chemicals. Treat Yourself To A Fat Refresh

If you’re someone who struggles to break down fat-heavy foods such as oil, fish, cheese or meat, a small dash of citrus could be your friend.

Citrus fruits contain an antioxidant called narginen, a chemical that stimulates proteins in the liver responsible for breaking down fats. If you often feel bloated after eating, suffer from acne or rosacea, or experience light colored or floating stools, fat digestion may be your kryptonite. Try introducing light amounts of citrus to your diet as a digestive aid. A glass of warm water with a squeeze or two of lemon before or after a meal can help support bile production and kickstart your liver’s fat-busting abilities. Start small and see if you note any improvements!

**Caution – if you have ulcers or Barrett’s esophagus, citrus may not be for you! In this case, try trimethylglycine instead.
